Seaside Mazda Drivers Enjoy The Sporty and Family Friendly 2018 CX-9
If you need a vehicle for hauling the family around, nothing beats a three-row crossover. But let’s face it, they aren’t always the most fun to drive. This isn’t a problem with the 2018 Mazda CX-9. This crossover delivers an outstanding driving experience, and it looks great, too. When you visit a Seaside Mazda dealer and see the CX-9 for yourself, you’ll be awed by its raked windshield, long hood and fastback rear.
Seaside Mazda Families Get Style With Functionality
That’s not to suggest the inside isn’t as beautiful as the outside. The attractive cabin features high-quality materials. The upper Signature trim comes with leather upholstery and rosewood trim. The supportive, comfortable seats will make even the longest drives a joy for the driver and passengers, and there’s lots of room to store your gear. All trim levels other than the base Sport include a power tailgate that makes it easy to load and unload items.
The 2018 Mazda CX-9 is a hit with the automotive press. Kelley Blue Book wrote: “If your enthusiast-driving side is now in direct conflict with your growing family's transportation needs, the 2018 Mazda CX-9 offers the best of both worlds. From its stunning styling to its near-luxury-like interior, the CX-9 is as impressive to stare at as it is to drive.”
The 2018 Mazda CX-9 is offered in four models, listed as Sport, Touring, Grand Touring and Signature. Front-wheel drive is standard across the board, and AWD is optional. All trims are powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder block that’s good for 250 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque, teamed to a six-speed automatic transmission. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the Mazda CX-9 with front-wheel drive is 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg highway, while AWD models deliver 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.*
The 2018 Mazda CX-9 Is The Perfect Vehicle When Driving Down By The Seaside
Handling is one area where the CX-9 shines. Its nimble handling lets it carve curves and winding roads like a much smaller vehicle. Keeping the ride smooth is Mazda’s new standard G-Vectoring Control technology. G-Vectoring Control monitors the CX-9’s speed, throttle position and steering wheel rotation. When the driver turns the steering wheel, the system reduces the engine’s torque very slightly to increase vertical load on the front tires.
The Mazda Connect infotainment system lets you enjoy the convenience of using your smartphone safely while you’re in your car. It links with your smartphone to enable you to use a wide array of website apps like Aha. Upper trims include a head-up display and traffic sign recognition. Both of these systems are designed to keep you focused on driving. Audiophiles will love the 12-speaker Bose audio system that comes standard on the Signature trim.
The 2018 CX-9 was named a Top Safety Pick model by the IIHS, with the highest rating of Good in all crash test categories. Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, active lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, low-speed automatic emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert and a rearview camera. Optional safety equipment includes lane departure warning, full-speed automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning.
