The 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback is available in sedan and hatchback body styles. The hatch is offered in two trim levels: 2.5 S and 2.5 Turbo. Four option packages are available to add even more features, depending on the trim.
The 2.5 S trim gets front-wheel drive standard, and all-wheel drive is available. It’s equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s good for 186 horses and 186 lb-ft of torque. The 2.5 Turbo is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine developing 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque with premium gas and 227 hp and 310 lb-ft with regular. All-wheel drive is standard. Both engines are joined to a six-speed automatic gearbox, and a six-speed manual is available as an option with the Premium package.

The 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback 2.5 S trim comes with 16-in alloy wheels, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, an audio system with eight speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8.8-inch infotainment display, and remote vehicle monitoring and control. Standard safety features include a drowsy driver alert, frontal collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams.
The 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback received the top score of five stars for overall safety by the NHTSA. The IIHS gave the model its highest rating of Good in all crash tests and named it a Top Safety Pick+ model.
