In January 2016, Mazda North American Operations experienced a growth of 2.8 percent year-over-year. The Mazda CX-5 has never experienced a better January as 7,063 models were sold, representing a 18.7 percent increase compared to January 2015. The Mazda MX-5 has its best month of January since 2008. Sales grew by 65.4 percent year-over-year. The best ever January sales for Mazda SUVs can be accredited to the i-ACTIV all-wheel drive system that is available in the Mazda CX-3 and CX-5. Additionally, it is apparent that consumers are demanding the SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY as 95 percent of the Mazda vehicles sold during the month were equipped with the technology. Mazda 2 Mazda Vehicles Nominated for 2016 World Car Awards

Two Mazda vehicles are finalists in the 2016 World Car Awards. The Mazda MX-5 and CX-3 have been nominated for the overall World Car of the Year, as well as the World Car Design of the Year award. Both vehicles deserve the award as each vehicle has something great to offer consumers. The Mazda MX-5 is a classic vehicle that has been modernized with the KODO design language. The affordable sports car offers agility and a fun driving experience. The MX-5 maintains its classic rear-wheel drive layout along with a perfect 50:50 weight distribution. There are two SKYACTIV-G engine options. The 1.5-liter engine delivers 129 horsepower and the 2.0-liter unit produces 158 horsepower. The Mazda CX-3 is unlike any other crossover on the road. It features Mazda Connect on a 7-inch touchscreen and Multimedia commander. There two SYACTIV-G engines available, as well as a SKYACTIV-D engine.
