Carbon Fiber Research Could Inspire A New Generation of Miata’s

New Miatas

Car weight influences every aspect of the design process. It affects how powerful of an engine the car will need, the max speed, the acceleration and the ability to navigate tight turns. Most of these features don’t arise when navigating the city or travelling home in rush hour, but a lighter body is a huge factor in creating a roadster that inspires and exhilarates. Cars like the Mazda MX-5 Miata roadster are always being upgraded and refined to improve performance, and Mazda recently revealed they are experimenting with carbon fiber builds.

Carbon fiber has many structural benefits which make it ideal for car design. It consists of carbon atoms bonded together in a crystalline shape, and it displays a high strength and resistance to being heated up, while still having a low weight. Carbon fiber also can be molded easily by bonding it with other metals or plastics into composites.

Carbon fiber has already been proven successful in fields such as aerospace engineering, so Mazda is looking to incorporate the material into parts of the next Miata. Carbon fiber can make cars faster, lighter and more durable, and Mazda wants to develop a cost effective method of production. This would create an enhanced driving experience for users that is more powerful, reliable and most importantly, fun.

This technology likely won’t be available for a couple more years due to its current price, but it still gives all car lovers something to look forward to. It also shows Mazda’s commitment to developing future vehicles, and their research into cutting edge technology keeps Mazda ahead of the game. You can experience this tradition of improvement at Cardinale Mazda in any of our new or pre-owned vehicles, which are sure to provide a great driving experience.

Mazda Teams Joins With GPJ To Enhance The Car Buying Experience

Mazda LOGO

Buying a new car can be difficult with all the different choices to make. Choosing between features like heated seats, manual or automatic, blue or white and much more is overwhelming. To improve the customer car buying experience, Mazda is joining with the George P Johnson experiential agency. They are aiming to reduce stress and develop a more interactive and personal process for each car buyer.

Mazda and its new partner will first be improving and changing the showroom experience to invite prospective car buyers in. Mazda’s looking to revamp all of their auto shows, and make them more accessible for people interested in learning about the new vehicles. Mazda is training crews to tell a narrative of craftsmanship and focus on the features most applicable to each customer. They are also adding new video content to really immerse car buyers in the experience. Customers will be able to sit in, feel and drive cars they are interested in.

An important aspect of car buying is creating a strong connection between the customer and the car; they should love each and every little detail. At auto shows, Mazda will help customers in both the research and purchasing phases, helping people find a car which suits their needs. Mazda is also adding teams to answer questions and share both their’s and Mazda’s passion for cars. If these auto show booth improvements show promise, expect to see them rolled out to dealerships across the country. For an already fantastic car buying experience right at home, check out Cardinale Mazda for friendly and knowledgeable customer service.
