The Mazda CX-9 Benefits From KODO Design Principles

MAzda CX-9 1

Crossovers have been a large market for car buyers and producers in the past five years. These compact car and SUV fusions have the nice, curved visual appeal of compact and sports cars while also being able to fit many passengers. The Mazda CX-9 is the embodiment of the ideal crossover, especially with its luxurious three row seating and use of the KODO design philosophy.

The KODO design philosophy is the foundation for all of Mazda’s sporty and stylish cars. KODO represents the soul of motion, and every car based on this principle should feel inspiring and enjoyable to drive. Mazda has condensed the KODO philosophy into a short phrase: dynamic poise enhanced by elegant detail. All Mazda vehicles should make you feel the strength and raw power of the motor as the vehicle glides down a highway or nimbly navigates tight corners. This is combined with a minute attention to the details, with each line and edge accenting the design perfectly.

The KODO values are found in all Mazda cars, but the CX-9 Turbo Signature take it to a different level. The CX-9 is just perfect width to make every passenger seat comfortable and spacious, while avoiding being too bulky to make it unwieldy. The 2.5-liter turbo four engine lets the car to easily glide down the road, and dense sound insulation keeps the ride inside quiet even on the loudest highways. The CX-9 is outfitted with safety features as well, including Smart City Brake Support and Blind Spot Monitoring to ensure safe lane shifts.

To enjoy the time tested KODO method, or see our current inventory, come down to Cardinale Mazda for an exhilarating test drive.

Mazda Designs Improved Safety Features For City Driving

Mazda interior

City driving can often be riskier than on a highway, and also have far more traffic to maneuver around. Research has proven that the most accidents and the most difficult traffic exists at intersections and areas where cars must rapidly decelerate or accelerate. On highways this generally occurs when cars merge, but in cities there are numerous stop signs or red lights on every street. Fortunately, Mazda has developed innovative features to help deal with frustrating city traffic and make driving safer.

The first recent development is Adaptive Cruise Control, which makes maintaining proper distance away from cars easier. Most cruise control systems operate in an easy way, accelerating the car to a speed set by the user. But Adaptive Cruise Control can modify this speed to account for the movement of the cars in front of the driver. By calculating how quickly the length separating the cars change, this cruise control can lower or raise the speed to maintain a safe driving distance.

The second new technology is a Smart City Brake, which operates similarly to the cruise control in reacting to other drivers. At lower speeds such as those found in city areas, this brake again monitors how quickly the distance between the two cars is changing. In the unlikely scenario that this distance is becoming too small in too fast a time, the Smart City Brake can automatically slow down the car and avoid a collision.

At Cardinale Mazda, we can help you test drive the safest and most fun to drive cars on the available, so come see us today, or check out our inventory online!  We want to be your dealership.

Photos Of the 2018 Mazda CX-5 Prototype Shows Thrilling Developments

Mazda CX-5 3

As summer moves on and fall emerges, car companies start to slowly release their 2017 model lineups, which include changes to current cars and maybe even a brand new car. So with all the joy and discovery about new features and designs, is it too soon to start discussing 2018 models? At Mazda we are constantly working hard on our upcoming projects, and recently the 2018 Mazda CX-5 prototype has been seen cruising around town.

The Mazda CX-5 is one of Mazda’s top selling cars, with room for plenty of passengers, as well as the nice design a compact SUV offers. The CX-5 underwent a remodel for the 2016 season and got a few changes to the interior and technology upgrades for 2017. But 2018 promises another full redesign that looks to keep the car at the apex of innovation.

The latest pictures of the prototype show a significant change to the exterior design of the car. This includes a bit of inspiration taken from the design of Mazda’s larger luxury SUV, the CX-9, with the 2018 version showing off lines that resemble that of the CX-9 but tailored to fit a compact size. The CX-9 has seen chart-topping success over the past year thanks to its premium comfort and excellent driving experience, so perhaps Mazda is looking to infuse a little bit of that luxury into the CX-5 model. Views of the interior also support this theory, though the model is only a prototype, so things could change over the next year.

If you are looking for great deals on this year’s offerings however, come check out our extensive inventory of cars at Cardinale Mazda.
