Mazda Invests Heavily Into Future Electric Cars

Mazda Logo

As the holidays get closer, the world gets a little brighter. People are happier, everyone gives gifts to each other and family come to visit. The world also gets a bit more vibrant, as green and red and all sorts of colors decorate homes and brighten up the night. Mazda too is looking to be a bit “greener,” as CEO Masmichi Kogai predicted that the company would be releasing electric cars as early as 2019.

Emission standards are quickly becoming stricter in almost every country around the world as governments begin cracking down on high greenhouse gas emissions. Several states, such as California, have already passed legislation requiring a rising number of zero-emission sales. This means car companies like Toyota and Mazda need to move quickly in order to develop and sell these cars. The ZEV regulations are designed to promote the electric car market and encourage companies to make their cars cleaner and more environmentally friendly.

One quality that Mazda promised it would not change are the original features and sporty design that defines the Mazda identity. In particular, the company engineers are working on a specialized way to keep the car operating for as long as possible when the battery is almost dead. This will give drivers in a sticky situation more time to find a charging station or make it back home. Mazda is also in the process of solidifying new partnerships in order to develop a quality product worth of being called a Mazda.

Mazda Adds New Diesel Option To Upcoming CX-5

Mazda Logo Mazda CX-5 3

With all the focus on electric and self-driving vehicles, you many have gotten the impression that diesel engines were quickly becoming a thing of the past. This could not be farther from the truth, however, as 2016 has been dominated by trucks and crossovers, many of which have impressive diesel engines. These engines have come a long way from the loud and dirty ones of the past, and nowadays can have several advantages over traditional petrol engines. Recently, Mazda announced a diesel engine that will be available on the 2018 CX-5.

While it may seem early to be thinking about a 2018 model, preparing for the future and making its plans apparent to consumers have always been important for Mazda. The diesel #CX5 will be one of the smallest crossovers to have this option, and the added power will be put to good use, thanks to the lighter frame and base. Mazda’s 2017 changes to the CX-5 include the option of more luxury features and a few edits to the bold look, and the 2018 prototype continues to build on these changes.

Mazda Diesel Engine

So why make the transition to diesel? There are a few advantages that have been introduced in the past couple of years that make them more affordable and better suited for smaller cars. The most important benefit is the reduced risk of damage and the lower maintenance costs, which is a result of having fewer parts and the total lack of a spark plug. Additionally, the fuel cost per kilowatt produced is generally around a third lower than that of a gas engine, so consider diesel a great alternative to petrol next time you go car shopping.

The 2017 CX-5 is available at Cardinale Mazda, along with the rest of Mazda’s new lineup. You can also find us online at www.cardinalemazda.com.

Mazda’s New Paint Brings New Luster And Shine

Mazda Logo

First impressions can make a large difference in someone’s opinion of a car. Generally, there are two components that have the biggest impact on this: design and color. An eye catching design or the bold curves on a car can really get car owners excited, so Mazda takes great care in infusing each creation with a sense of sportiness and fluidity. Color may not seem as important, but for Mazda it is a big component of their KODO design philosophy, which looks to embody the true soul of motion into a machine.

The #KODO approach may sound complicated or extravagant, but simply put it tries at connecting every driver to the car itself, letting them feel the road and experience what driving is truly about. A big aspect of this is color, which is thought of as, “an element of form” in this way of thinking. That’s why each paint option is more than just a simple color, it is multiple layers of artistry and creativity. The classic Mazda red is available on every car, and it brings the car to life for many owners.

Mazda’s newest shade is a color named Soul Red Crystal, and will be a color choice for some 2017 models. It combines three layers of clear, translucent and reflective coats into a richer red that has 20 percent more color saturation and 50 percent more depth than other red paints. This gives a bolder and fresher finish to the car. It also has aluminum and light-absorbing flakes that raise the intensity of the color.

Each drive of a Mazda car brings out the excitement and fun of driving, so head down to Cardinale Mazda to test one out for yourself. You can also look at all our new models online at www.cardinalemazda.com.

Mazda Expands To Two New Markets

Mazda Logo

Mazda is known for one key concept: incorporating a sporty design into smaller cars such as SUVs and sedans along with the newest and most advanced features. Unfortunately, two areas get left behind in such an arrangement. Trucks and electric cars make up some of the largest and fastest growing markets in the auto industry today, and in order to bring the iconic Mazda style to these fronts the company is looking to partner with some big names in production.

If you are in the market for smaller cars that are fun to drive and accommodating for most families, then Mazda is the perfect company for that task. But many consumers have been wondering if Mazda will try their hand at the world of full size pickups, as they are great for towing or just general utility. Mazda finally caved in and has initiated a new partnership with the company Isuzu, which has its own factories for both production and design. Through this mutual agreement the two will share research and development breakthroughs ,as well as their latest designs, in order to give drivers exactly what they are hoping for in a truck.

The #electriccar market is quickly growing not only in the U.S. but also all around the globe as countries add stricter regulation on emissions and fuel economy. To be a part of this expanding movement, Mazda is teaming up with Toyota in order to create efficient batteries and hydrogen fuel cells. Toyota’s knack for sedan design and Mazda’s industry leading engines in fuel economy should be an ideal pair for creating these cars of the future.

You don’t have to wait for these partnerships though to take advantage of Mazda’s pursuit of perfect car design. Come down to Cardinale Mazda for a look at the new 2017 Miata RF or check out our full inventory online at www.cardinalemazda.com.

Motor Trend Names The Mazda CX-9 A Finalist For SUV Of The Year

MAzda CX-9 1

One of the auto industry’s most notable awards is the Motor Trend Car of the Year. Each year Motor Trend reviews and analyzes different cars to determine the vehicle in each class that shines brighter than the others. The SUV class in particular is both extremely popular and includes many highly qualified entries, making the choice for SUV of the Year even more competitive. The Mazda CX-9 is one of the SUVs that has made it to the finale of this competition, and looks to reclaim its title from 2008.

The previous generation #CX9 was an incredible vehicle that easily won the 2008 Motor Trend SUV of the Year award. As other cars were remodeled as well though, the CX-9 took a backseat to their success. This year Mazda’s full size SUV is back with a vengeance and eager to win back the title. Its new remodel for this year brought a number of healthy changes, including improved interior features and upgrades to the previous engine.

Mazda CX-9 4

When it comes to being crowned the winner, the 2016 Mazda CX-9 has a number of advantages over its competitors, which include the Jaguar F-Pace and the Tesla Model X. To compete with these luxury companies, the CX-9 was equipped with technology such as heated rear seats and an intricate stitching on the leather upholstery. Classy wood and metal trims accent the interior as well. The true beauty of any Mazda though is in the drive itself, and the CX-9, “glides from corner to corner, attacking them like a Mazda should—fun for the whole family.”

Look for this potential victor at Cardinale Mazda, where our staff can help you test drive this amazing car. You can also find us on the web at www.cardinalemazda.com.

Mazda Improves Best Selling Sedan Lineup With Some Great Changes

Mazda3 3

The Mazda3 and Mazda6 are two pillars of the Mazda lineup. They are consistently highly ranked in their class for a number of features, including economic value and quality of craftsmanship. But what makes these two sedans so popular with people? For one, each car designed by Mazda has a sporty appearance that is instantly recognizable when looking at the car. To further improve these two best-selling vehicles for 2017, Mazda has added new steering improvements, as well as a more luxurious interior for the best possible driving experience.

Considering that steering is an essential operation of the car, along with accelerating and braking, it makes sense to ensure the process is as smooth and simple as possible. Oversteering and rapid turning are two of the largest problems drivers can encounter, so Mazda developed #G-Vectoring control in order to combat them. This system accounts for the degree of the turn and your speed in order to prevent and correct for oversteering and make sharp turns easier to handle. It can reduce the torque, enabling a calmer and less rigid turning motion. As seekingalpha.com commented, “…it just feels better.”

Mazda6 coupe 3

The second big improvement is the inclusion of more luxury features for drivers and passengers to make use of. A gorgeous leather interior along with a beautifully stitched trim provides the perfect level of comfort and support for everyone in the car. Heated rear seating as well as a heated steering wheel may not sound like something you need, but once you enjoy it you can never really go back.

These 2017 models will be arriving soon at Mazda dealerships such as Cardinale Mazda. Come check out our wide selection of vehicles or look for us online at www.cardinalemazda.com.

Mazda’s Lineup Of Cars Is Perfectly Tuned And Tested

Mazda 2

One of the most unique qualities of Mazda is its size. While Mazda is a large car producer, they currently only manufacture six cars: the CX-3. CX-5. CX-9, Mazda3, Mazda6 and MX-5 Miata. But there is a reason for this relatively small lineup. Unlike companies like Ford or Toyota, Mazda is able to heavily focus its attention on these select cars, while still covering the needs of most drivers.

Because of the more limited lineup, Mazda engineers are able to commit to larger improvements and changes in each car. This means more advanced technology that is expertly integrated into every vehicle. A great example is Mazda’s unique infotainment system that comes with MazdaConnect. It allows you to easily sync your smartphone into the music, maps and phone calling functions of the car, all readily accessible using controls on the steering wheel or the joystick.

Mazda doesn’t need a multitude of different cars for every class, they only need to make a single car that is perfectly engineered, packed with features and stylishly designed. This allows drivers to really enjoy their driving experience and discover the true soul of motion that Mazda bases their cars on. As with most things in life, quality over quantity is a great rule to follow, so check out the Mazda6 if you are looking for a premium full size sedan, or the new #MX5Miata if you want a dedicated sports car.

Here at Cardinale Mazda, our sales team can tell you everything you need to know about each of our high quality cars. If you want to look through our whole inventory, you can always find us online at www.cardinalemazdacom.

Mazda Named Most Fuel Efficient Automaker For Fourth Year Running

Mazda Logo

The EPA is one of the most important organizations for car companies to design for. They set standards for the emissions of cars and also provide official estimates for the fuel efficiency of every car. These ratings are vital for consumers as well, as the “miles per gallon” statistic has become a much bigger concern and selling point lately. So when you decide on purchasing a new car, why not first check out Mazda, which has been chosen by the EPA as the most fuel-efficient automaker for four years running?

Thanks to Mazda’s more limited lineup, it is free to focus on improving every aspect of its current models, and it certainly has paid off in fuel economy. The improved efficiency mostly stems from Mazda’s #SKYACTIV engine technologies, which amplify both the miles per gallon and effective power output. A whole set of new transmissions, chassis and engines all combine to make the car lighter, stronger and faster without losing fuel economy. This award was also won even when taking into consideration the hybrid engines and electric cars that other companies offer.

It takes hard work and commitment to earn such a sought after award for four years in a row, but Mazda understands the value of a quality product. When people asked for more miles per gallon to combat rising fuel prices, Mazda was able to deliver on that request without sacrificing the engine strength and sporty design. So if you are in the market for a refined and skillfully engineered car, take a closer look at the Mazda3 or CX-5. What you find might surprise you.

If you want to test drive any of these cars, head on down to Cardinale Mazda. Our staff can help you find the right car for your needs, or you can find us online at www.cardinalemazda.com.

The Mazda CX-9 Perfectly Captures The Idea Of A Luxury SUV

MAzda CX-9 1

Making its world debut back in 2006, the Mazda CX-9 has always been a classic combination of affordability, luxury and just a little hint of sportiness. The car has received mostly minor changes since then, but most recently had a full makeover for 2016. Available in four different trims such as the ever popular Grand Touring, the CX-9 offers the most attractive features of any SUV in its class.

One of the most exciting features of the #CX-9 is its customizability, and it can be tailored fit to your life. The car is offered in a whopping seven colors, ranging from the classic Soul Red Metallic to the refined Jet Black Mica. Seating and cargo space also adapts to what you require, thanks to three rows of seats that can quickly be folded down. The car is long enough to provide ample legroom to all passengers so no one feels like they have to cram in the back. The interior also features quality Nappa leather, wood trim and choice of an auburn, black or sand color scheme. Three-zone climate control ensures everyone is at a comfortable temperature, and the MazdaConnect infotainment system caters to your every need.

The exterior has also received some significant changes. The exterior headlights along with the lower molding have been altered to provide a more polished look. Under the hood you can find a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine that is capable of producing 250 horsepower, because what good is a luxury car that isn’t also fun to drive?

To test drive a CX-9 at any of our trim levels, come visit Cardinale Mazda. We have a wide selection of the newest Mazda cars, and you can always find us online at www.cardinalemazda.com.

Mazda Brings Families To Laguna Seca For Annual Turkey Trot

Mazda LOGO

Located in Monterey County in the wonderful state of California, Mazda’s Laguna Seca Raceway is a great place to go on the weekends for an afternoon of fun. Mazda hosts a number of racing circuits for drivers of different skill levels, and this course is the perfect place to test a driver’s skill. With its twists and turns and fast paced straightaways, Laguna Seca provides a challenge to all contenders. This Thanksgiving however, you won’t find cars out on the track, but instead runners of all ages will be there for the annual Turkey Trot.

For people who want to really see what it’s like on the road level of a race track, this event is the perfect opportunity for runners to explore the 2.23-mile-long circuit. It’s normally only available to racers of the #MX5Miata Cup and other series, but for one day a year people get the opportunity to walk the track. This annual event draws the interest of the locals along with vacationing tourists, and even some runners from countries such England and Japan. The track will be available from 7-11 a.m. on Thanksgiving Thursday, providing a great morning activity for families that is healthy and fun.

In addition, this is a great chance for Mazda to give to those in need. The proceeds from the $10 entry fee will all be given to the Monterey County Food Bank, and canned food donations will also be accepted. They are the largest emergency food provider in the area, and they collect and distribute food to individuals as well as non-profit agencies. Last year over $3,000 was donated along with over 200 pounds of food, and Mazda is hoping to surpass that record this year.

While at Laguna Seca, runners can check out Mazda’s various car models, and you can do the same at Cardinale Mazda. We have an extensive selection of the latest Mazda cars, and you can find our whole inventory online at www.cardinalewmazda.com.
