In 2013, Mazda North American Operations gathered Mazda employees and Mazda dealers to compete in the longest endurance race in America. Coming into this year’s race, the score was tied and a select number of dealers and employees were ready to compete in the National Auto Sports Association’s 25 Hours of Thunderhill. This time the 15 drivers were able to compete behind the wheel of the all-new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Cup race car. It is a way for the drivers to experience what the race car is all about, as well as a way for Mazda to test its durability. The MX-5 Cup series comprises of 45-minute sprint races, equaling to two full seasons worth of competition for each car. The employees and dealers will be racing alongside four 2016 Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup spec cars being driven by Long Road Racing. Cardinale Mazda sees this as a great way for friendly competition between Mazda employees and dealers.
