The power retractable hardtop on the previous-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata sold very well and gave people an easy way to stay out of the rain that isn’t simply a cloth or vinyl. Last week, Car and Driver published an article focusing on the MX-5 Miata PHRT that Mazda is not building. Although the power-retractable hardtop is much better than a folding top, it also added 77 pounds of weight to the vehicle that prides itself for being lightweight. Regardless of the fact that Mazda will not deliver a 2016 MX-5 Miata PRHT, Car and Driver’s artist managed to put together a few renderings of what the car would look – and we love it!
