The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has named three Mazda vehicles as a 2016 Top Safety Pick+: Mazda CX-5, Mazda3, and Mazda6. The vehicles were put through rigorous safety tests. In order to be awarded these high honors by the IIHS, vehicles are required to receive the highest rating in five categories regarding body structure, as well as earn advanced ratings in collision-prevention technologies that are available. Mazda credits the majority of why its vehicles are some of the safest on the roads to the SKYACTIV technology.
