Mazda Considering Turbo/MPS Powertrains for New Mazda Miata
A Mazda representative has recently announced that it is considering building a turbocharged or MPS version of the new Mazda MX-5 Miata. Although the automaker waited, what seemed like forever, to release some performance specifications of the highly desirable 2016 Mazda MX-5, people wonder whether or not the automaker will offer something a little bigger under the hood. Late last year, Mazda revealed that its 2016 sports car would feature the SKYACTIV-G 1.5-liter gasoline engine, but some people want more. Critics wonder if the SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter engine will make it into the model’s powertrain options; however, Mazda hasn’t said a word about that happening.
