Mazda Invests Heavily Into Future Electric Cars

As the holidays get closer, the world gets a little brighter. People are happier, everyone gives gifts to each other and family come to visit. The world also gets a bit more vibrant, as green and red and all sorts of colors decorate homes and brighten up the night. Mazda too is looking to be a bit “greener,” as CEO Masmichi Kogai predicted that the company would be releasing electric cars as early as 2019.

Emission standards are quickly becoming stricter in almost every country around the world as governments begin cracking down on high greenhouse gas emissions. Several states, such as California, have already passed legislation requiring a rising number of zero-emission sales. This means car companies like Toyota and Mazda need to move quickly in order to develop and sell these cars. The ZEV regulations are designed to promote the electric car market and encourage companies to make their cars cleaner and more environmentally friendly.

One quality that Mazda promised it would not change are the original features and sporty design that defines the Mazda identity. In particular, the company engineers are working on a specialized way to keep the car operating for as long as possible when the battery is almost dead. This will give drivers in a sticky situation more time to find a charging station or make it back home. Mazda is also in the process of solidifying new partnerships in order to develop a quality product worth of being called a Mazda.
