Mazda’s All-New Aqua-Tech Paint System

According to Inside Mazda, Mazda created a three-layer painting system called Aqua-Tech that is unique because it is capable of accurately painting vehicles with a robotic painting system.  As a mass-produced endeavor, it required many man hours of engineering time to develop a painting system that would work flawlessly and improve upon the previous system.  Two major objectives were achieved by Mazda with the Aqua-Tech paint system: applying a uniform thickness of paint and providing an extremely efficient painting process.  Not only that, but the painting process produced a paint job that was glossier and reduced waste.  Since the Aqua-Tech paint system is water-based, it was able to reduce the emission of volatile organic compounds by an astonishing 78 percent!  This environmentally friendly approach to reducing waste is admirable and Mazda has indicated that it is committed to preserving the environment.
