Mazda Promotes New MX-5 in Canada In an attempt to promote the newest generation MX-5 Mazda model, the Japanese automaker has bounced right over print, paper, and even your desktop. This time, Mazda has gone straight to people’s smartphones on Instagram – the Toronto-based ad agency, JWT, has designed a social strategy to take people through 25 years of the MX-5. Michael Tsang, Supervisor of Interactive Marketing, Mazda said: “We like the fact that instragram has a bit more of a hybrid platform with static imagery and video. And it is still a bit untapped from a brand standpoint.” The social strategy launched last week and consists of a 9-panel shot that fit together to make a cover – each image is a video, which provides a history vignette into the brand’s past.
