Mazda has begun mass production of SKYACTIV automatic transmissions at its newly established transmission plant in Thailand. The transmission production facility produced Mazda’s SKYACTIV-D automatic variant. This new generation transmission provides both driving pleasure and outstanding environmental and safety performance at the same time. The facility’s President and CEO, Hidenori Kawakami, said: “We’ve made great efforts to ensure the manufacture of high quality units at MPMT, including sending more than 30 engineers and managers to Mazda’s plants in Hiroshima and Hofu. The Mazda Global Human Resources team released a statement saying, “Mazda is implementing its Structural Reform Plan on a company wide basis in order to realize further growth. The plan encompasses the expansion and evolution of SKYACTIV models and the reinforcement of Mazda’s business and brand on a global scale. We are looking for people who can work together with us, and persistently and continuously take up the challenges necessary to realize our dreams and objectives.” This is a great sign for the auto manufacturing company – there are tremendous signs of expansion here and we hope that with this comes with new models.
