Why The Mazda3 Is The Perfect Choice For Teenagers

Mazda3 3Looking for a reliable first car for your teenager or college-bound student?  Let’s face it, deciding on a first car for your son or daughter is a daunting task.  It’s not as simple as it was when you picked out their first bike with training wheels.  Fast forward to the present, and you no doubt realize that while safety is still a priority, there are a lot more factors to consider when choosing a car for today’s teenager.

If you’re like most parents, the factors that are most important for your teenager’s ride include safety, reliability, fuel economy and affordability.  Let CardinaleWay Mazda Salinas make it easy for you!  The search is over, as the Mazda3 should definitely be at the top of your list, whether it’s the new 2017 model or a certified pre-owned Mazda3.

It’s a practical choice, hands down.  The Mazda3 is a compact vehicle that is fuel efficient (up to 41 mpg highway), thanks to its 155 horsepower SKYACTIV 2-liter, four-cylinder engine.  Saving at the pump lets you put those dollars saved toward other costs like college tuition.  Reliability is its strong suit, as Consumer Reports estimates that Mazda’s SKYACTIV engine is 43% above average.

For safety, your teenager will benefit from the Mazda3 Connect system that enables them to be hands-free with their cell phone.  You can also choose a Mazda3 that is equipped with optional ACTIVSENSE safety features such as blind-spot monitoring and rear-cross traffic alert.  It’s worth the extra investment to help keep your teenager safe.

Of course, to the teenager, visual appeal is vitally important.  After all, it’s not unusual for a teen to think that their car defines them.  Who can resist the 2017 Mazda3 sportier 5-door hatchback model?  It inspires pride of ownership which is a huge plus.  That’s because you’ll want to see your son or daughter keep their first vehicle spotless inside and out, right?  The hatchback also provides more cargo space for storing all the gear your teenager will haul.

We invite you to visit Salinas Auto Mall to view our great selection of new and certified pre-owned vehicles.  Put your teenager behind the wheel of a Mazda3 for a test drive.  It’s a comfortable ride and easy to drive, with a push-button start.  Our Sales team will be glad to demonstrate all features of the Mazda3.  Let our Finance department at #CardinaleMazda Salinas help you secure affordable financing.  For all your automotive needs, see our website at www.cardinalewaymazda.com.

Orders Are Soaring For 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF

2016-Mazda-MX-5-Miata_3_lg

Let’s admit it, the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF looks like it belongs in Gotham City.  It’s easy to imagine the convertible with the retractable hardtop as a modern-day Batmobile.  It’s definitely shaking up the automotive world, as pre-sale orders are skyrocketing for the stunning new version.  Expected to arrive on lots in February 2017, there are already some models in the U.S. now.

Sports car enthusiasts and collectors alike are going to love the sleek and sexy MX-5 Miata RF.  For starters, the “RF” refers to retractable fastback, an astonishing power-folding mechanism that retracts in about 12 seconds.  For aesthetics, you can’t miss the pair of flying buttresses on the rear, designed to accommodate the retractable hardtop.  We can only utter, “Holy smokes, Batman!”

This latest MX-5 Miata RF is so hardcore that it possesses exciting dual personalities.  With the hardtop up, it resembles a sports coupe comparable to a Porsche.  Put the hardtop down and you’ve got yourself a roadster capable of stopping people dead in their tracks as they stare in either awe or envy.  If you dare, consider blaring Rod Stewart’s “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” anthem.

What’s New In 2017 For The Mazda6

Mazda6 coupe 3

Looking for a family-friendly, sleek sedan boasting peak performance and fuel economy?  Your best bet is the 2017 Mazda6.  It’s eye candy—a mid-sized sedan with four doors and an interior that emphasizes what Mazda does best. It makes it look and feel rich without a staggering price tag.  New changes abound for the 2017 model.

The most exciting change includes G-Vectoring Control, a concept designed to address steering response.  The “G” stands for g-force or the force of gravity.  The faster the change in speed, the more one feels the gravitational effect.  The idea behind G-Vectoring Control is to reduce power to the engine as the vehicle makes turns, transferring weight to the front tires.  This helps make the turns seamless or smoother. Yet the reduction in torque is so subtle that you’ll barely notice.  Despite being barely discernible, G-Vectoring Control is expected to significantly improve vehicle handling on slick road conditions.

Also new in 2017 are a couple of new additions to the i-Activsense suite of safety features.  First is the newly installed Forward Sensing camera, capable of recognizing pedestrians that emerge into the path of the Mazda6.  It’s designed to avoid or alleviate pedestrian impact.  Another new feature to i-Activsense is its ability to recognize traffic signs.  Just think, no more running Stop signs!

Within the interior, new improvements include a heated steering wheel, leather-simulated seats and noise suppression.  For the latter, Mazda went back to the drawing board and implemented tighter seals on the doors, added thicker auto glass in the front doors, and boosted sound insulation.  The end result is quieter noise on the inside.

There’s also a new trim offering in 2017.  Joining the Mazda6 lineup is Grand Touring, featuring leather seats in your choice of black or off-white and heated rear seats.  Other trim levels include Sport Manual, Sport Automatic, Touring Manual and Touring Automatic.  With a 2.5 liter, four-cylinder SKYACTIV engine, the Mazda6 fuel economy cited is 26 city and 35 highway.

For those that prefer a sedan, the 2017 Mazda6 offers the latest in technology, with an impressive slate of safety features.  Give it a try, and discover the Mazda magic. Come to #MazdaSalinas, and catch the wave of excitement. While you’re here, maybe you’d like to check out a Mazda CX-3 or Miata.  We’ve got a vehicle to suit every need and budget.  Visit our website at www.cardinalemazda.com for all your automotive needs.

Mazda Engineers Unveil The Latest Developments In Safety Technology

Mazda 2

One of the most important parts of driving is your safety, which has always been a number one priority at Mazda. Throughout all of our award-winning history, Mazdas like the CX-5 and Mazda6 have been highly praised for their safety measures.  These measures  have had a real impact in lowering the number of accidents. Safety superiority is still a priority for Mazda in 2017 with the development of G-Vectoring control and numerous new programs.

When driving on the road, oversteering can cause accidents on every turn, so G-Vectoring control was designed to correct for this. Every movement of the wheel is tracked on each turn you take, and the system can then electronically correct for turning too quickly or sharply, which can wear out tires and cause a loss of control. The software also helps reduce the impact of slick spots on the road due to water or oil by slightly shifting the car’s weight distribution. If a tire is about to lose grip of the road, more weight can be put on to keep traction constant.

Mazda CX-5 3

The numerous other safety features on the CX-5 have helped it be named an IIHS Top Safety Pick. Only 38 cars received this honor this year, and Mazdas were praised for features like Smart City Brake, Lane Departure Warnings and Lane Keep Assist systems. The #SmartCityBrake will activate at city speeds and can stop the car to avoid an impending forward collision. Both the Lane Departure Warnings and Lane Keep Assist programs work in tandem to prevent you from drifting into another lane by using simple alerts.

Discover more about each and every one of these features by talking with our knowledgeable sales team at Cardinale Mazda. Our Salinas used car dealership has all the 2017 models in stock, including the new Mazda CX-3. Mazda Teases Fans With Latest Miata Trim Reveal

Mazda 1

Very often car companies like to make the reveal of their next project into a game for fans. They may write cryptic riddles and put them on social media sites like Facebook, or they may just give away small bits and pieces of the puzzle at a time. This slow reveal is a fun and enjoyable way to generate excitement and anticipation about new models, and Mazda is doing just that with a unique pair of Mazda MX-5 Miata RF roadsters.

These cars are scheduled to officially be unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon that is taking place in January, but it’s always exciting to get a sneak peek at what is in the near future. As a kid, you probably investigated every package and present before you were allowed to actually open them, and shook them to try and figure out exactly what was inside. The first car in the photo is a soft-top Miata coated in a classic red finish has an alluring shine. Unlike many of Mazda’s latest paints, this color is solid red, with no metallics or pearls fused into the mix, and it also has no hints of blue or purple that is typically found in modern #Miatas.

The second Miata is almost certainly a preview of the RF Custom Style, which boosts the aggressive levels in the looks and suspension for a bolder and more challenging design. The suspension itself will be height-adjustable and sturdier, thanks to a tower brace. Additionally, a sport muffler has been added to the package to really capture the classic race car look and feel. This design also includes the latest 2017 design tweaks and interior finishing.

Look for these two new trim levels in the near future at dealerships like Cardinale Mazda. We can help you find the right Salinas used car for your needs, or you can read about them on our website at www.cardinalemazda.com.

Mazda Recognized For Significant Impact In Grassroots Motorsports

Mazda Logo

At the heart of any professional sport there is a loyal fan base and a thriving club scene. These amateur/semi-pro club competitions are a direct line of new talent into professional leagues, which would otherwise fade away as stars retire. Every year, the news website autoweek.com honors the car companies that have accomplished more than just their sales goals and have had a tangible impact in the motorsports scene. Recently, Mazda was honored with the 2017 Autoweek Constructor Award for its empowering work in the grassroots and amateur areas of racing.

Mazda has dedicated hundreds and thousands of hours to establishing opportunities and events that new competitors can take part in. The company has developed several challenging circuits over the past couple of years, resulting in a 55 percent market share in these racing scenes. Mazda car drivers even took home 10 out of 28 of the class championships this year, which took place at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The most impactful statistic however, is how successful Mazda’s Road to Indy racing series has been in advancing drivers to the pinnacle of competition. During this year’s Indianapolis 500, 25 of the 33 drivers had at one point in time competed in either the #RoadtoIndy or a similar Mazda circuit.

Mazda was also recognized for its MX-5 Cup, which awards scholarships for drivers attempting to climb rungs of the racing ladder. All challengers in the cup must drive the new fourth-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata Cup car, which is a modified version of the Mazda Miata that is available for purchase all across America. This modern roadster is right at home on the racetrack thanks to its engine and lightweight design.

You can experience the 2017 Miata or any Salinas used car at Cardinale Mazda. We have the hottest deals and widest selection on all Mazda cars, and you can browse our full inventory online at www.cardinalemazda.com.
