With the America’s increased interest for small vehicles, the Mazda 2 has proven to be a great hit. The Mazda 2, or Demio, as it is known overseas, was teased this past year in the Mazumi concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show. Compared to the current version, the 2016 Mazda 2 will be about six inches longer, with a three-inch-longer wheelbase, and windshield pillars have been pushed forward. Mazda Posts Best May Sales in 18 Years Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has reported that they increased sale by 22.5% in the month of May when compared to Year-to-date; additionally, the Japanese automaker has reported a 6.4% increase in sales through the month of May versus last year. In the first 5 months of the 2014, Mazda has sold 130,223 units. “Despite the economy being anyone’s guess these days, with GDP down and durable goods orders off, we see consumer confidence looking strong and shoppers turning into buyers, and the proof of this is the result we saw across the industry with May sales” commented Ron Stettner the VP of Sales for MNAO.
