Mazda MX-5 Miata Cup Race Car – The Affordable Racing Car from Mazda

Peoria 2 Two New 2016 Mazda MX-5 Cup Partners Announced

First of all, this racing car has not yet been officially launched. The first deliveries are scheduled to begin later this year. This is just a brief look at the race car that Mazda claims will be the most affordable race car available in the market once it’s released. The introductory price of the car is set at $53,000. You have to keep in mind that we are talking about an affordable race car, not just another car. The MX-5, for the first time, will be sold in a ready-to-race format.

A ready-to-race car removes the effort of engineering and costs associated with fabrication. It enables the racer to focus on racing. Since all the racers will have identically-built race cars, the main determining factor for on-track performance will be their driving skills. The popularity of Mazda MX-5 Miata can directly be attributed to its performance, at an affordable price. The Mazda Cup Race car follows the same principle.

The MX-5 is being built as a true stock car. 80% of the parts are stock. Drivers will be able to make only a few modifications. The 2.0 liter 4-cylinder will be locked to prevent any internal tampering. Air conditioning will not be installed or available even as an option. A roof and windows are not included, either. You will have the option to bolt a second racing seat on the passenger side.

Once released, you can check it out at Cardinale Mazda.
