New 2016 Mazda Miata makes an Appearance at Coffee Shops in CA
Earlier this month, Mazda showcased the 2016 Mazda Miata at the Paris Motor Show, but that was not enough for the Japanese automaker – the new Mazda roadster was spotted last week at Cars and Coffee in Irvine, CA. Although this may come as a surprise for many of you, it is not as random as it may seem for the show to show up in Irvine – after all, Mazda’s North American Headquarters is located in Irvine. The auto manufacturer has been very secretive with the powertrain details – despite Mazda teasing with a pre-launch clip that had clear signs of turbocharging, the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata will be motivated by naturally aspirated engines. Mazda revealed that the U.S. market will receive a SKYACTIV 2.0 liter engine while the rest of the markets will receive a 1.5 liter SKYACTIV powertrain.
