History of MAZDASPEED and Mazda Motorsports

History of MAZDASPEED and Mazda Motorsports

History of MAZDASPEED and Mazda Motorsports MAZDASPEED factory-engineered vehicles, performance parts and accessories, and motorsports programs are the ultimate expression of Mazda’s Zoom-Zoom spirit. Mazda describes MAZDASPEED as the destination for driving enthusiasts who are eager to experience Mazda at the most adrenaline-charged level. MAZDASPEED’s racing heritage can be traced back to an independent racing team in the late 1960s, known as Mazda Sports Corner. The Mazda Cosmo 110S was the sleek, two-seater that the team decided to drive as they ventured out to establish a Mazda presence at major motorsports events worldwide. The first accomplishment came when the Cosmo took fourth place at an 84-hour endurance race in Nuerburgring – this was a great achievement for a new racing team and a new car with completely new engine technology.

Fun to Drive, Everytime you Drive it – Mazda MX-5

Fun to Drive, Everytime you Drive it – Mazda MX-5

Fun to Drive, Everytime you Drive it – Mazda MX-5 In its 25th year of production, not very much has changed on Mazda’s favorite sports car, the Miata. It may be everything you could possibly want in a sports car – attractive, affordable, great acceleration and fun to drive, every time. The two-door, two-seat, rear-wheel-drive sports car remains a popular buy, even 25 years after its initial launch in the U.S. The little car is quite fuel efficient as well, it can record 22 MPG in the city and around 28 MPG on the highway. The Next generation model is expected to come equipped with SKYACTIV technology, which is said to improve the vehicle’s fuel efficiency. We will get our first look at the 2016 MX-5 this fall. Four-Wheeled Truck Timeline Revealed

Four-Wheeled Truck Timeline Revealed

Four-Wheeled Truck Timeline Revealed Mazda established the beginning of four-wheeled trucks in 1950 – it was not until 1958 that the Mazda Romper came to life which was quickly followed by the D1100 and D1500 in 1959. The 1960s and 1970s were the key years in Mazda pickup truck evolution. In 1961, Mazda created the B1500 and two years later, in 1962, Mazda released the D2000. However it was not until 1964 that the D200 was redesigned for its second generation. The following year, the Mazda Proceed was released and took the world by storm. This truck was perhaps one of the most popular – it was compact and agile. The first generation Titan was first put on the market in 1971. Although the D1100 and the D1500 grew in popularity during Mazda truck’s early beginning, when the D1500 and D2000 made their way to the market with a newly redesigned engine, consumers responded tremendously well. As the truck popularity spread throughout Japan business for Mazda was at an all-time hight – by October 1965, after the introduction of the Mazda Proceed, an end of Mazda pickup trucks in Japan came to the end. It was not until the 2006 Bangkok International Motor Show that Mazda unveiled a new pickup truck with direct-injection turbo-diesel engine known as the Mazda BT-50. Closer Look Under the 2016 Mazda Miata Hood

Closer Look Under the 2016 Mazda Miata Hood

Closer Look Under the 2016 Mazda Miata Hood Mazda has purposefully kept details of the next MX-5 Miata secret – the Japanese automaker has not officially popped the hood just yet. Luckily for us, we were able to catch a glimpse of the Miata’s engine. At this year’s New York Auto Show, Mazda unveiled a few features and we learned that like the NC Mazda MX-5, the battery is up front, near the front fascia; the engine on the other hand, is pushed way back with the airbox up front, and the coil-on-plugs are very prominent up top. It is believed that there are two engine options for the new generation Mazda Miata; the 2.0 liter SKYACTIV-G, which can produce 155 HP and the 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G, which can produce 184 HP and 185 lb-ft of torque. Car Basics: Synthetic Oil vs. Conventional Oil

Car Basics: Synthetic Oil vs. Conventional Oil

Car Basics: Synthetic Oil vs. Conventional Oil When it comes to your car everything is important and keeping up with your vehicle’s maintenance is critical. The rule of thumb is that every 3,000 miles you should change your vehicle’s oil, but have you found yourself debating whether to go with synthetic of conventional oil? There are a few points to consider before making the decision. First you should know that synthetic oil is more expensive, but it may be worth the extra few bucks. Synthetic oil is regular mineral oil whose constituents have been separated and then remixed in a much higher quality to provide better quality oil in extreme conditions. Synthetic oils also have a much higher heat resistance so it is important to use this type of oil in engines with high heat output or vehicles that are tough performers, i.e. hauling trucks, sportscars and large carriers. Conventional oil is great as well, as a matter in fact, most cars on the road will run just fine with conventional oil – regardless of the fact, it is always best to go with the oil recommended in your owner’s manual, because that is what your engine has been designed for.
